E1 to A1 deep retrofit of a 1970s semi detached house

Originally built as a dormer bungalow, this house had already been significantly extended and modified by the owners. They wanted to make better use of the spaces they already had, and to improve the energy performance and comfort of the house. This presented significant challenges due to the complicated shape, roof geometry and construction systems of the existing house, and required a very bespoke and nuanced design approach. The project was successfully upgraded from an E1 to an A1 BER rating.
